Titles Project Screen Dances

See the dance film project that reached thousands of viewers world-wide!

In 2019, B/S P launched the Titles Project, an open-access online series of short dance films, created in-house, with the goal of meeting our audience where they are. The dances were conceived from a list of titles, each more different than the next, united in spirit.

By 2020, Titles Project had successfully reached thousands of people globally, including in Canada, Mexico, South America, the U.K., Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Southeast Asia, and across the entire United States.

In addition to the virtual screening of select films, this opportunity includes pre or post-performance discussions with the choreographers and directors.

Our Process to Product and Dance on Film classes (see below) work very well to compliment this film series creating a well-rounded, complete experience.

Technique

B/S P's signature Fusion Reaction class leads students on a journey from the inside out. Using Fusion Reaction, a  methodology developed by Kyla Barkin, students harness internal and external forces to create space for  dynamic shifts and enliven the body and mind. The class places attention on  centering, expansiveness, opposition, grounding, athleticism, and nuance.

Alternatively or complimentary, technique 'Class in a Box' is designed for limited space or time using a medley of influences including somatics, yoga, fitness, martial arts, physical therapy and rehab forms, various classical/modern/contemporary techniques, hints of Flamenco, street dance, and B/S P repertory. This toolkit of exercises may be adapted or abbreviated into functional excerpts as needed for different environments and circumstances.

Process to Product

A class exploring repertory, composition and the use of improvisation. Participants learn and create, improvise, explore and build on ideas, elements, and creative tools. This workshop touches on different artistic options and approaches to creative direction and/or work.
